Right now, I am leaning into the mindset of transformation. What is transformation?

Transformation is defined as a radical or dramatic change. There is no denying that we are experiencing a radical and dramatic change. So we are transforming. Now the mindset of transformation is all about acceptance. It’s all about leaning into this transformative experience that you and I are having right now. That our businesses are going through as well as each of us individually. As my dear friend Matthew Ferry always says: “what you resist persists, what you accept transforms”.

So are you accepting? Are you accepting that the situation is the way the situation is -and inside of that, given that we are going to be living with this virus indefinitely, are you embracing the transformation and now starting to create what you want your life and your business to look like?

I’m empowered by the idea of leaning into transformation because it makes me feel like I am in control. I have a say in how my life and my business unfolds. So here we are in this transformative event, this transformative phase of our lives, and what are you going to do about it? We can’t control what’s happening outside of us. We can’t control what’s happening with our government or the economy or the virus. We can control and influence our response to it.

And I think now is the time to embrace the transformation. To move out of the “shock and awe” phase, and to move into the creation phase. What’s your summer going to look like? What’s your fall going to look like? What do you want to create? How are you going to stay connected with your family and with your friends? What are you creating now for your health and fitness? For your business? For the expansion of your business- or perhaps the further contraction of your business? What you resist persists – and what you accept transforms. That’s a great piece of wisdom from my dear friend Matthew Ferry.

So I want to ask you, what are you resisting? Because what you resist cannot transform! And I don’t know about you, but I want to get out in front of this a little bit. I want to be the one creating how I respond now. I’m glad to be moving out of the phase where I was massively in action for the first nine or ten weeks of the virus, and now I’m starting to be more thoughtful, more creative, more forward thinking, and out of this “response mode” that I was in. Out of the reactive mode- and I’m moving into the proactive mode.
