Confession: I’m in the middle of dissecting every aspect of my business that doesn’t work as well as I’d like it to, figuring out the root cause, and putting it back together in a way that delivers even more value to my clients.
Let me tell you, it hurts. But while it may cause some friction in the short-term, I know the changes I’m making will pay off (for both myself and clients) in the years to come…and I’m willing to put in the hard work today for the future gain.
So in short, I’m playing the long game: short term pains for long term gains.
How about you?
Are you ready to take action today that’ll get you where you want to be in the long term? Let’s talk…

Are you suffering from short term thinking? I know that I get hit with it from time to time; I think about what’s happening in my business in this really really short time frame and it doesn’t feel good. And so the mindset that I’m cultivating and inviting you to cultivate with me, is the mindset of playing the long game.

So look unless you’re going to sell your business in the next year or two, you’re in this for the long haul. You’re taking actions today that are going to pay off years down the line. And so one thing we know about business is that it takes a long time to build a business. We know that the building becomes exponential, and over time the results that we produce as we build momentum, the results just expand and expand, and the same thing is happening right now.

Yes, we’re all taking actions today that we have to take to keep our business afloat, or to handle- for some people to handle the big influx of business as the needs have changed of your customers. Wherever you are, I’m encouraging you to take the view of the long game, that we are in this for the long haul, and that what is happening today is temporary: “this too shall pass”. There’s comfort in remembering that this phase that we’re in is temporary, nothing is permanent. And we have a lot of years ahead of us to recover any losses that we’re suffering now, or that we are going to suffer in the short term, and there’s plenty of time to produce the results that you and I want to produce.

So join me in cultivating the mindset of playing for the long game- looking out into the future. Taking action today, consistent with where we want to go. Knowing that it’s going to take awhile, it takes a long time to build a business! But, that’s the game. That’s the game we’re playing, it’s a long and we’re in it together.
